ROLE PURPOSE

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare year-end statutory financial statements, for a varied portfolio of clients across a range of sectors
Assist with the preparation of management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
Prepare and review VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and deadlines.
Perform reconciliations including bank, debtor and creditor reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Liaise with colleagues across service lines to ensure client work is delivered efficiently and to agreed timescales.
Maintain technical knowledge of accounting, taxation and regulatory developments.
Utilise accounting software and technology solutions to support efficient service delivery.
As the role progresses, begin to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact for routine queries.
As the role progresses, identifying opportunities to add value to clients and support the delivery of advisory projects where appropriate.

Experience & qualifications

Experience and Skills Required:

Qualified or Part Qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment and similar role.
Experience preparing statutory accounts for SME and owner-managed business clients.
Strong reconciliation and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Confident communicator with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cloud accounting software such as Xero, Bright Accounts or Sage.
A proactive approach with a commitment to delivering excellent client service.
